For the past year or so, crime rates on Treasure Island have dropped significantly due to the efforts of Good Neighbors Crime Watch, SFPD, TIDA, Community Housing Partners, TIHDI, many residents, and others.

It  appears we are experiencing a spike in burglaries and attempted burglaries, as reported by spotcrime.com, on Treasure Island, and the community needs your help.

Note: the data provided to me is based on calls made to police dispatch. Some calls turn out to be valid, some do not. We won’t know for sure until after the end of the month.

The streets that have so far shown up on the reports are: Osbourn, Bayside, Northpoint, Exposition, Chinook, Gateview Court, and Avenue of the Palms.

Residents of  both the Villages at Treasure Island and TIHDI residents have been victimized. This is a community issue.

At this point, this is police matter, I have informed Community Housing Partnership, John Stewart Company and the Treasure Island Development Authority and I will address at the Southern Station Citizens Advisory Board on the 14th.

SFPD has indicated that some of these are the result of copper miners. At least one unit had their back patio door smashed in with heavy objects.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Southern Station Anonymous Tip Line:

Be sure to remove anything that can be used (such as rocks, etc) from your back yard and if you hear breaking glass – call 911 immediately. You can (and should) report any suspicious activity to the non-emergency line 415-553-0123.   Sincerely Mark ConnorsGood Neigbhbors
